The FDNY will host or participate in a number of commemorative ceremonies to honor the 343 members lost by the Department on September 11, 2001.
Atat the WTC Site On Sunday, September 11, 2016, the City will commemorate the 15th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center. The observance will take place at the National September 11th Memorial Plaza at the WTC Site at Liberty Street and Trinity Place on the morning of September 11th.
Family members of the victims who perished in 2001 at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and on Flight 93, as well as the six victims of the 1993 WTC bombing, have been invited to participate in this year's reading of the names.
At Firemen's Monument
On September 11th at 9:30am, members of Battalion 18 will host the annual Memorial Services at the . All members and their families are invited to attend. A Mass at will follow at 12:15pm.
Family members of the fallen will be given priority seating inside the Cathedral, located on 5th Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets. While there will be limited seating and standing room at the rear of the Cathedral for FDNY personnel, the service will be simulcast and additional seating will be available in St. Thomas Church at.
